GRANTS PASS HIGH SCHOOL TRACK AND FIELD
Qualifying for Rotary
Each year we receive a number of questions concerning the qualifying standards for the Rotary Invitational. Beginning in 2003, we opted to post the number of entrants who would be selected to participate in each event rather than utilize a fixed qualifying mark. This enables us to conduct the meet on schedule.
By using this website and www.athletic.net, we are able to post entries on the Monday prior to the Invitational. We also update the web site entries on the Friday before the meet to reflect any scratches. This way, our Friday list is as current as possible.
The number of competitors is limited in each varsity event as follows:
16 competitors: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, all hurdles races, all relays, long jump and triple jump;
18 competitors: 1500m
20 competitors: 3000m
24 competitors: discus, javelin and boys shot put
12 competitors: high jump and pole vault
Girls shot put: a total of 32 athletes will be equitably allocated among the varsity and frosh/soph divisions.
The number of competitors is limited in each Frosh/Soph division to 8 competitors except as follows: 800m (12); 1500m (16); and 3000m (18).
The number of girls shot putters will be equitably allocated among the varsity and frosh/soph divisions up to 32 competitors in total.
