Projects & Activities

The seventh annual (2010) Grants Pass Rotary Clubs Rogue Duck Derby has now come to a close as the race was held September 26th. This year 15,526 ducks were launched at the start. Click to see the Winners. The City & County High School Athletic programs will be the beneficiaries of the event as matching grants. All monies wil be used make Athletics infrastructure improvements at the 4 area high schools, Grants Pass High School, North Valley High School, Hidden Valley High School and Illinois Valley High School.

The first annual (2003) Grants Pass Rotary Clubs Rogue Duck Derby was a "quacking" success!! 13,999 Ducks were dumped into the river, raising over $120,000 towards the completion of Morrison Centennial Park!

Jackson Cobb from Highland Elementary

Every year, the Rotary Club of Grants Pass recognizes a Student of the Year at each local Elementary and Middle School. Check out the winners for 2011!

The Reinhart Volunteer Park in Grants Pass, Oregon, was the brain child of Rotarian, John Reinhart, when the old American Legion baseball park was removed due to roadway construction. Grants Pass Rotary started by donating $10,000 to get the project off the ground. During the past ten years EVERY sports organization, service club, plus many, many business owners and private citizens have donated not only their money but time and effort to make the 57 acre Riverside West All Sports Park available to all sports enthusiasts. There was little to no cost to the city for the land and improvements and on July 31, 1997, the project was given to the city. There are horseshoe pits, basketball and tennis courts, sand volleyball pits, softball and baseball diamonds, soccer fields, plenty of paths, gazebos and ponds including the wall with the Rotary logo shown on the right. The Mark Brandt Wall of Fame honors outstanding local athletes in the tradition of the late Mark Brandt.

Here we go again: Morrison Centennial Park is the project of all three Rotary clubs in the Grants Pass area.

Rotary Track Meet

April 30, 2011 marked the 62nd Anniversary of the annual Grants Pass Rotary Invitational Track Meet. Beginning in 1950, it has grown from a small event (just 3 teams at the first event) to the premier invitational meet in the state. Held in conjunction with Grants Pass High School, the meet currently draws over 40 teams from Oregon & California competing in 17 track & field events.

2011 Results are posted at track meet page. Thank you to everyone who participated and attended. A special thanks to all the volunteers who made the event possible.

Exchange Student Float Trip
